A Mother’s Cry: Celebrating the Resilience and Strength of Mothers in 2025

As we close out 2025, we are reminded of the trials and tribulations that mothers—especially those of incarcerated children—have endured this year. From governmental upheaval to health crises, from the grief of losing loved ones to the harsh realities of the prison system, it has been a year of enduring pain and unwavering strength.

Yet, despite it all, we are here. We are standing tall. We are thriving.

This year, A Mother's Cry has witnessed incredible resilience in the faces of adversity. Through every challenge, we have seen mothers who have refused to be defined by their struggles. These women—our sisters, daughters, and friends—continue to rise above the storms that seek to drown their spirits.

Navigating Governmental Upheaval:

In the face of shifting political landscapes, we, as mothers, have become the unshakable foundation that holds our families together. From advocating for change to supporting one another in these uncertain times, our voices have risen above the noise. We have pushed for justice, demanded transparency, and fought for the rights of our incarcerated children, all while enduring the weight of political and social instability. Our courage is a testament to the unwavering spirit of mothers everywhere.

Enduring Illness and Loss:

This year, many of us have fought personal battles with illness, both physical and emotional. We have mourned the loss of loved ones—family members, friends, and for some, the loss of the future we had dreamed for our children. But even in the face of this profound grief, we continue to move forward. We have found strength in our faith, in our communities, and in each other. We have learned to embrace the healing power of shared stories, tears, and laughter. Together, we are navigating the deep waters of loss, emerging stronger and more determined than ever before.

Enduring the Incarceration of Our Children:

The pain of having a child incarcerated is something no mother should have to endure. This year, many of us have continued the fight for justice, for the release of our children, and for a broken system to be held accountable. We have fought against a society that often sees our children as statistics, rather than individuals with potential. But despite the oppressive weight of the system, our love for our children has not faltered. We continue to advocate, to fight for their rights, and to seek redemption for their futures.

Thriving in the Midst of Struggle:

Through it all, we have not only survived—we have thrived. We are mothers who have turned pain into purpose, suffering into strength, and obstacles into opportunities. We have birthed new initiatives, reached out to one another in community, and found healing in the collective. We are raising our voices, not in despair, but in a call for liberation—for ourselves, for our children, and for future generations of mothers.

To the mothers who have been at the forefront of the fight for justice, to those who have walked the hardest roads but still show up every day with love and grace, we honor you. You are the backbone of our communities, the ones who keep going when it feels like everything is falling apart. You are the definition of resilience.

In 2025, we celebrate you. We celebrate your strength, your courage, your perseverance. We honor the mothers who continue to show up, even when it feels impossible, because you are the heartbeat of this movement. We are here, and we are thriving because of you.

Here’s to 2025: The Year of Resilience. The Year of Strength. The Year of Us.

With love and honor,

The A Mother's Cry Team
