Black History is not a footnote. It is not a chapter to be rewritten, diluted, or erased by the stroke of any executive pen. It is a living, breathing testament to the endurance, innovation, and brilliance of a people who have faced unimaginable horrors yet refused to be broken. No decree, law, or political agenda can erase the truth of who we are or the undeniable impact we have had on this world.
We are the descendants of kings and queens, builders of civilizations, creators of culture, and architects of revolutions. Our history is a legacy of triumph over adversity, a story woven with resilience, creativity, and unyielding strength. From the Middle Passage to Jim Crow, from the Civil Rights Movement to the present day, we have not only survived—we have thrived.
Our contributions cannot be erased from textbooks, nor can they be omitted from history. The achievements of Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Malcolm X, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Maya Angelou, and countless others are cemented in time. The innovations of Black inventors, the literary works of Black writers, the musical genius of Black artists, and the cultural impact of Black leaders have shaped the very fabric of society.
Black History is not just about the past—it is about the present and the future. It is about the young Black girl who dreams of becoming a scientist, the young Black boy who aspires to lead his community, and every Black individual who dares to dream beyond the limits placed upon them. It is about reclaiming our narrative, standing unapologetically in our truth, and ensuring that the next generation knows the power of their heritage.
Black History cannot be revoked nor erased. It is ours, and it is unstoppable.
